Life and a Paper Ball

So, when we found out we were getting Allie, our kitten, I went out and bought the bare necessities. I also had to throw in a few odds and ends (kitty toys, of course). I bought a toy mouse, another one with catnip (catnip is suppose to calm a cat down, get them high if you will). But our cat had to be different, if makes her hyper instead. I bought her some tennis balls, I don't think she care so much for them. The other night we gave her a paper bag to play with, a funny sight to see. But last night killed me. After going out and getting some toys for her to play with, she likes the crumpled up paper ball the best. I mean, she played for the longest time with that paper ball. And it was so funny. She became a soccer play very fast, and when she would finally catch it she would walk with it in her mouth. She looked just like a dog that is retrieving a ball for its owner. This morning she got another workout with her new best friend, yep the paper ball!
Remember when you were little and all you needed was your imagination to occupy hours of your time! Those were the good old days! Yes, I did grow up in the age of atari, nintendo, game boy, sega...I grew up when technology was just starting to roll! Now a day kids have the computer xbox 360 or something like that. I wonder if they can still use their imagination? I know my neice would rather sit and watch tv all day long than go outside. I was totally the total opposite, of course they didn't have all the station that we have today. We had three of four stations, until we got cable!
How about when you spend all kinds of money on a gift, and all they are interested in is the box it came in. I think I'll learn my lesson now and by my kids cardboard boxes instead of the toy that they won't play with until like five years later, I'll just buy it at that time. I'm just joking, it could be an interesting theory, though.
All I'm saying is that I remember all the times I spent making up stuff, playing with others, inventing new storylines to play/act out. I don't necessarily remember all the toys my parents got me. So I end with this, "Life is about a Paper Ball, the rest is just details." Cliche, I know, but it's true.

Told this story a number of times, so I don't remember if I told it to you. One of Angelles cats swallowed eight pony tail holders. BAD KITTY!!! Angelle said the cat hacked them up...I know GROSS! But kitty made it through.
